I'm not sponsored by anyone; these are just really brilliant resources that help me a lot.

YouTube Channels

A clothing factory in Japan that shares videos showing how they make clothes. I suspect this is the sample maker, rather than the mass-production line, but they make clothes impeccably. It's also very soothing to watch.

Pattern making and sewing

Simply called "SEWING." RTW sewing, mostly of stretch/jersey garments like t-shirts and hoodies.

Books

Metric Pattern Cutting series by Winifred Aldrich
I have the 5th Edition of the Women's wear book. If I could keep only one book, this would be it. I like it best for its blocks. There is a 6th edition but I like the 5th one better, or at least, I don't find it worth getting the new one instead. Older editions have other drafts in too, that got cut out for newer ones.

Essentially, almost anything Aldrich wrote. That's not to say she's infallible. I change quite a few things in the drafts, but I take that advice from my own maths and from the other queen of professional pattern cutting, Kathleen Fasenella. Combine the two and you have a pretty decent education, in my opinion.

Bare Essentials - Bras, by Jennifer Lynne Matthews Fairbanks
I got this book because it's full of maths, and I very much like maths. If you don't, there are tables and even a page on her website that do it for you. It's methodical, and while I'm just getting into it, it looks promising.

Websites

Author of the aforementioned Entrepreneur's Guide, Kathleen Fasenella's website. If you want to sew well, trawl through the tutorials on this website and your work becomes easier and more professional. This is the difference between home sewing and professional sewing.
